Liturgy is any activity of the body that shapes the soul. They can be either sacred or secular.
James K.A. Smith tells us that “Liturgies aim our love to different ends precisely by training our hearts through our bodies. They prime us to approach the world in a certain way, to value certain things, to aim for certain goals, to pursue certain dreams”.
In other words liturgies are practices that form our identity by bending the needle of our heart toward a vision of the good life.
This means that all liturgy whether sacred or secular is worship.
In the Christian sense, liturgy is the way we “put on” Christ.
